David Gandy by Greg Lotus for GQ Germany

Photographer Greg Lotus has always struck me with his sensual, evocative black and whites...he makes magic with light and shadows.

Stumbling onto this tasty treat...was really all I needed to be happy. For the rest of my life. In all sincerity...what just happened?

Natural Modernity

Inspired lately by a friend's raw industrial loft space, I dug into my vast virtual encyclopedia of interior design resources...and have rekindled my love affair with the art of home. One of my favorite designers for industrial space is John Houshmand. Houshmand creates functional, modern pieces that are constructed with natural elements...His sleek designs bring warmth, masculinity, and texture to an industrial space. Looking forward to designing my next place...I heart interiors.

My impending inkwork...

So, my birthday is upon us...June 6th, to be exact...and I'll be officially diving into my 30s. This birthday will also mark the 3rd anniversary of my first tattoo which I got while attending the Sacramento Tattoo Convention at the Convention Center. I was so eager to have my first ink done by some amazing international tattoo artist, so I was blown away when I stumbled upon Daniel diMattia, of Calypso Tattoo in Belgium. He's a GOD. No, really. His henna-inspired, all-black dot shading techniques blow my mind. Calypso Tattoo He's truly a master at what he does, and there would be no way I'd have anyone else interpret the hamsa with the Star of David creation I've been longing for...unfortunately, Daniel was unavailable for the rest of the convention, tattooing a man's head and face, so I had Davide, a Milanese friend of Daniel, tattoo Ethan or "Eitan" translated in Hebrew on my right wrist. For $100. Yeeeah. Inflation occurs at the conventions. So until Daniel and I make a date, I'm moving on with some other ideas. The first being the translation of my Greek name, Anastasia Christine, from the top of my shoulder to the base of my neck, so horizontally on the top of my shoulder. I thought to do it in Latin, but "Resurgum in Sarcalogos" is less effective as the translation in English, "Resurrection in Christ", written in an Old World, Gothic, Medieval, Latin type font. Here are a few to ponder. What say you?

Let me see you get out of this....

I'm all wrapped up in Alexander McQueen's reptilian fantasy. His Spring '10 campaign has picked up where the runway show left off, and features model Nicole Zimmerman tangled in a colorful maze of slithering serpents. I'm interested to know which was more torture - lying there under them or wearing those alienesque creations on her feet?

Mark Fast S/S 10

Mark Fast not only placed curvaceous models on the catwalk this Spring, he boldly clothed them in spandex dresses some might find reminiscent of a stroll down Santa Monica Blvd., EAST of Highland. Although I couldn't quite embrace (wear) the entire collection, there were pieces that left me writhing with desire. His layered ruffles were delectable, and his intricately torn patterns were mosaic in design. This collection is definitely for the bold and the beautiful.

I suspect he'll be a star. Be prepared.
